This week’s most wearable: Folk trend

The folk trend can be a tricky one to get right, often conjuring up images of a floppy-hat-wearing Sienna Miller circa 2003. Thankfully, things have moved on since then, with a softer take on the trend appearing on several AW16 catwalks this year. The truth is the folk trend may just be your best friend this season; whether it’s paisley prints or a great leather bag, here are some of our favourite pieces from the latest drop at Weave:

Grace and Mila Laventa folk dress

We LOVE this floaty dress with a gentle flared skirt, long sleeves with a delicate neck tie. Toughen it up with a pair of Stan Smiths and a leather jacket for a ‘tough-girl’ look or some knee high boots for a more sophisticated affair. Team with a polo neck like the one below for a truly wrapped up number!

Part Two Afinas polo neck in night sky

We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again – layers, layers, layers! This cute polo neck from Part Two is great under a floaty dress like the one above. Or, use it as the base for a folk-inspired outfit and top up with a cool fringed gilet. A true staple, whatever the weather.

Part Two Cassandra leather shoulder bag

Accessories can make or break an outfit, and a solid staple like this gorgeous leather bag goes a long way! We love the detachable shoulder strap and inner pouches and linings.

Grace and Mila Lavender floral blouse in red

One of our favourite pieces has to be this red floral blouse from Grace and Mila. The floaty detail, hem and bib tie and Peter Pan collar is oh-so ‘Little House on the Prairie.’ We love the three quarter sleeves which are perfect for layering. Throw on a scarf and you’re good to go!

See you at Weave soon!
